Simple ways to start saving.

Let’s keep it short and simple!

First of, TRACK. TRACK. TRACK your spending for two months and get a clear picture of how you spend and what money is going where.

NOW two steps

STEP 1

Cut out the easy stuff first.

The simplest way to determine this, is asking yourself, is this a need or a want?

A want gets first dibbs to go! Here are a few examples of wants to easily let go of:

- Entertainment

- Eating out

- Branded food

- Convenient food

- Alcohol in restaurants

- Impulse buying

- Clothes

STEP 2

Lower the big things

These are harder and will require potentially months of strategic planning on how best to reduce these and generally get them to more desirable amounts.

The three main big ticket items are HOUSING.FOOD.TRANSPORT.

Here are some examples of ways to save on these:

- Housing - change location, downsize, get a room mate, house hack

- Food - cheaper supermarkets, meal planning, generic brands, cook more home

- Transportation - change car, use one car

My biggest encouragement is to start NOW! Start the tracking and get cutting and lowering!
